"EU Projects have Positive Impact on the Personal Youth Development" - EU Act

Coalition of youth organizations SEGA он 26th of February organized a debate on the topic: "EU projects have positive impact on the personal youth development" - EU Act,

as part of the project "WISE While Innovating and Strengthening Europe", supported by the Europe for Citizens Program of the European Union in cooperation with ALDA - European Association for Local Democracy, from France and 14 other partner organizations from Europe.

The main aim of the project „WISE” is by use of bottom – up approach and participatory methods to focus on promoting democratic engagement and active citizenship in local and union policy – making.

The debate was attended by 29 students, professors from the local high schools, students from the Economy faculty and local NGOs. Participants were divided in two groups that took part in the debating, for and against the topic: „EU projects have positive impact on the personal youth development”. Participants were debating on following questions:

  1. What are the challenges and opportunities and how huge is the awareness for the opportunities that EU gives us?
  2. How big is the individual responsibility in driving positive change? Who can make the change and where and how we should start with it?

On the end, participants wrote recommendations for actions at local, national and European level.

The debate was aimed at rising the EU awareness, EU challenges and opportunities, individual responsibility in driving positive change. Also, there were produced recommendations for actions at local, national and European level.

Coalition of youth organizations SEGA will continue with organizing this type of activites in order to raise awareness and active youth participation in the processes of approximation of the Republic of Macedonia in the EU.
