Through Employability to Social Inclusion of Young People

Start: 01.02.2020 – End: 31.09.2020

The project "Through Employment to Social Inclusion of Young People" aims to strengthen youth employability at risk towards their effective participation in the labor market, thus contributing to increasing the employment of young people from vulnerable age groups of 15 - 29 years in Republic of North Macedonia.

Analyzing the identified problems, environmental analysis, experiences from previously implemented activities and projects, we have found that a systematic approach is needed to address the identified problems, with strategies that would influence the improvement of the approach to increase employability of youth, especially youth with NEET status.

In this regard, the project anticipates a methodology that covers three key segments aimed at enhancing the employability of at-risk youth towards their effective participation in the labor market. Through the project, SEGA identified and will work with 30 at-risk youth (NEET, long-term unemployed, welfare recipients) and through Individual Career Planning and Capacity Building Workshops will develop their Individual Employment Plans. 20% of them will have the opportunity to experience practical work in a business environment, and a third of them will receive mentoring support until employment. With the proposed approach and methodology we will contribute to the achievement of the foreseen results and the achievement of the project objectives.

The primary target group of the project are long-term unemployed and inactive youth at risk (NEET, social welfare recipients) aged 18 - 29 years from Prilep municipality. Final beneficiaries of the project are young people aged 15-29 living in RN Macedonia. The project will directly target: 30 unemployed youth (NEET, long-term unemployed, beneficiaries of social welfare) aged 18 - 29 years and companies from the private sector on the territory of Prilep municipality.

Through the project, SEGA will achieve the following results:

  1. Enhanced employability skills of long-term unemployed and inactive youth at risk (NEET, social welfare beneficiaries) from the municipality of Prilep
  2. Strengthened competencies for youth work through the internship process
  3. Increased motivation and access to employment facilitation information through individualized mentoring support

Carrier of the project is Coalition of youth organizations SEGA, which is a national platform of youth organizations active in the field of lobbying for youth policy changes, dedicated to supporting youth activism, improving access to information and participation of young people in activities to address youth issues. SEGA as a sustainable and developed youth coalition enables young people to believe in themselves, pursue their interests, create and build.
